Meet Tara Burley

As a coach, I bring an inclusive, open, and playful approach to support clients through compassionate exploration. This exploration, while sometimes challenging, creates greater clarity and ease in their lives, and in their leadership. Having spent several decades supporting high-performing individuals, I specialize in stretching leaders beyond the linear scope of traditional goal setting to create transformational change and growth. I support clients through the full range of life and career stages with the focus of increasing self-awareness and reconnecting to intentional choices.

I hold a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and a specialization in Human Resources and Organizational Behaviour. I’m a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach and a Certified Team Performance Coach. I offer a range of expertise in a variety of leadership assessments, including the Leadership Circle Profile. Having been at the helm of several significant cultural shifts, I specialize in supporting professionals through career transitions and change – be it as individuals or as team systems. With a passion for demographic data, I offer specialized coaching through the lens of understanding the quarks, key motivators, and communication styles of each unique generational group and how to leverage that awareness within the workplace.

As a lifelong learner of all things related to people, culture and belonging, I have served in several significant leadership roles, including as a key member of a Global Leadership Team in the ultra-demanding sector of professional services. Within that challenging and complex environment, I helped to create a strategic balance between leadership development, employee engagement and sustainable growth.

My enthusiasm for developing and supporting people as leaders intertwines with my personal dedication to yoga, meditation, and mindfulness. As a practitioner of twenty-five years and a yoga teacher for more than a decade, this informs my range as a coach, offering the experiential aspect of embodiment and encouraging balance between mind, body, and breath. In being with clients in this way, I create safety and trust for deeper clarity and space for processing stuck emotions.

A commitment to one’s own development is at the forefront of how we learn to live, love, and lead. When we create time for our own growth, it allows space for conscious choice and purposeful commitments. This deeper awareness of ourselves opens a doorway to becoming more intentional in our actions and in our relationships. Intentionality may not always mitigate failure or vulnerability, but it does welcome a perspective on learning and building resilience.

I currently serve as a member of the Board of Directors for Landing Strong, a non-profit organization serving military members, veterans, and first responders injured as a result of workplace trauma exposure, where I co-lead the HR & Organizational Wellness subcommittee.
