Meet Laura MacLellan

I work with leaders, teams, and organizations who are committed to real growth. Leaders who sense there’s more possibility ahead but aren’t sure how to reach it. I help my clients strengthen their confidence, sharpen their leadership presence, and navigate uncertainty with clarity, purpose, and resilience. My approach creates space for honest reflection and new possibilities rooted in curiosity and connection.
With over a decade of progressive leadership experience in human resources, I’ve worked with leaders at all levels from the frontline to the executive suite globally to cultivate strong talent strategies, succession plans, total rewards programs, and leadership development initiatives. Before joining Fire Inside, I held a senior HR role at one of Atlantic Canada’s largest employers, where I played an integral role in organizational culture and managing change.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology encompassing Business Administration and an Advanced Diploma in Human Resources. I’m completing my Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) certification through the Co-Active Training Institute and am certified in the leadership assessment tool, the Leadership Circle Profile. I draw on a variety of coaching tools and frameworks to support deeper insight, growth, and meaningful change.
My coaching style is curious, compassionate and thoughtfully bold. I partner with clients to uncover fresh insights, apply learning to their real-world challenges, and develop practical skills for authentic, sustainable leadership. I believe leadership isn’t about having all the answers, it’s about cultivating awareness and courage to respond with intention.
I am deeply curious to understand how people grow, what drives them and what holds them back. I support clients to slow down, tune in, and build the awareness and practices that allow new patterns and new possibilities to emerge. Real transformation takes time, space, and support. It’s a process that deepens with reflection and willingness to begin again.
Committed to serving my community through mentorship and connection. I’ve been a mentor with CPHR Nova Scotia’s mentorship program, which supports HR professionals in developing their skills and advancing their careers. I also volunteer with the Halifax Connector Program, helping professionals and newcomers build meaningful career connections.
