Meet Cathy Jacob
I love to work with clients who want to do work that matters without sacrificing their well-being in the process.
- Leaders who are eager to make a positive difference and grow their impact, in all
aspects of their lives. - Professionals who want to feel inspired and fulfilled, not depleted and exhausted.
- Clients who are struggling to navigate challenging life and career transitions.
These chaotic, messy, and stressful times in our lives provide fertile ground for creativity, growth, and transformation.
I bring over four decades of business and leadership experience and two decades of coaching experience to our clients. I am a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) and I have advanced training in team and relationship coaching. I'm a graduate of The Co-Active Training Institute’s Co-Active Leadership Program, and a member of the International Coach Federation.
I came to leadership coaching following a 25-year career as an organizational leader and communications consultant. For much of that time, I worked with executives and senior leaders to improve their communication skills. But I learned that addressing their communication challenges was only the tip of the iceberg. I found that leaders were looking for support for their deeper leadership challenges.
In 2003, I invested in an intensive three-year learning and development process to become a leadership and team coach. In 2005, my partner and I created The Peer Leadership Program to fill a need for a more comprehensive approach to leadership development in our community. In 2009, we co-founded Fire Inside Leadership, and grew to serve more clients with a wider range of leadership development services.
In 2021, I created The Slow Sip, a newsletter and podcast, to share the best of what we've learned from two decades in the field. In The Slow Sip, I explore what it takes to lead and thrive in these complex times. Further, I share new and old insights from leaders in the fields of leadership, psychology, and neuroscience. My hope is to extend the impact of our work to a broader community of leaders and support people who may not have the resources to hire a coach.
I believe that outstanding leadership is not a gift bestowed on a talented few, but a capacity that can be unlocked in each of us. Further, I believe that individual and collective well-being lie at the heart of leadership effectiveness.
We live in a time when developing our leadership has never been more important or urgent. The unprecedented challenges we face as individuals, organizations, and communities, call us to bring our best and most capable selves to meet them. Answering that call is our greatest hope for a sustainable future.
